The Back to Basics Angel Program provides over 10,000 needy children with the basic necessities of NEW sneakers, socks, underwear and a toy each year during the holiday season.
How it Works:
Schools and agencies provide names and sizes of needy children to Back to Basics. Each child’s name, age and size is printed on 'Angel Tags', which are given to area business, churches, clubs, organizations and individuals.
Individuals/organizations choose one or more 'Angel Tags' and purchase and wrap NEW sneakers, socks, underwear and a toy for the children.
All the gifts purchased are returned to Back to Basics, where every gift package is checked to ensure that every child receives all four items promised. If some of the Angel Tags are not selected, not returned, or are missing one of the items, Back to Basics will fill in the gaps and make sure that every child receives the ‘Basics’ that were promised.
Since the beginning of the program, 100% of the children in the Back to Basics program have received the gifts promised to them.
How We Do It:
Back to Basics counts heavily on all the business, churches, clubs, organizations, schools and individuals that adopt the 10,000+ children each year by shopping for the 'Angel Tags'.
Each year, approximately 80-85% of 'Angel Tags' come back complete, ready to give to the children.
For those 'Angel Tags' that do not come back or are missing some of the items requested, Back to Basics uses cash donations to shop for the missing items, to ensure that every child gets the basics.
